I presented the research findings and recommendations of Stepping Up to Singaporean and expatriate executives in Singapore, and returned inspired by the response. Whilst in Singapore she also conducted research for Finsia to obtain the observations and opinions of its members working in Singapore's financial services sector.

Speaking to an audience comprising mainly Australians, Singaporeans and other expats, I shared highlights of Stepping Up's interviews with 100 leaders from across Australia and Asian nations...and introduced methods for examining cultures and leading change to increase cross-cultural understanding when doing business with people from many countries and cultural backgrounds. The discussion was lively and the 'Q and A' session ran over substantially; it could have gone on for hours!

A penal session followed with: Junie Foo, Co-Chair of BoardAgender and Deputy General Manager, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ; and Amanda Duggan, General Manager, Corporate Development of Telstra International Group, and International Diversity and Inclusion Leader.

Finsia Roundtable Workshops for Singapore Members

I facilitated two roundtable workshops with Finsia's Singapore-based members as part of a national Australian Financial Systems Review chaired by David Murray AO. The spent 6 hours with members, inquiring and listening to their observations and suggestions about how Finsia can better prepare members to meet 21St Century challenges and support them in their work across the Asia region.  The report was presented the Finsia Board and can be found on their website.

My debt to Singapore

Singapore was my first overseas post and my first total-immersion living in a foreign culture. I learned much about the differences between the dozens of Western and Eastern cultures I was in regular contact with and I my journey of appreciating different values, language and history began.
​I have always felt thankful for the years I spent there, as it opened my eyes to the power of diversity, and how to recognise and tap into the talents of people from cultures other than my own.
My journey continues with each passing day and I love taking others along with me.
